The processing time of LMIA work visa applications

Yukon is the only territory that received fewer applications this year. Nunavut was the highest of all territories that received LMIA applications, that is 535.7. After this, Northwest Territories with 115.6, Manitoba with 103.3, and Saskatchewan with 103.2.

There is a delay in processing time because of many LMIA work visa applications received. According to Federal data, Alberta takes the way for more LMIA processing time in Canada, but this is because the province has less number of applications in priority processing streams. Alberta stands first with delay in processing time, Manitoba takes 53 days, NWT takes 50.3 days, and Saskatchewan takes 46.7 days.

In the recent report given by CBC, the LMIA applications for Alberta are in agriculture and recurring agriculture worker streams, when compared to 11 percent for Ontario and 18 percent for Quebec.
