Germany is on the lookout for skilled foreign workers!
Germany granted 80,000 employment visas to foreign skilled workers in the first six months of 2024. Of these, 40,000 work visas were issued to foreign skilled workers, a significant increase of 3,000 compared to the same time in 2023. Considering the labor shortages of skilled professionals, the government is issuing and prioritizing more work visas.
German Economic Institute (IW) released an analysis highlighting 570,000 unfilled job vacancies in the country. The IW stated, "For companies, this means that their production potential is being wasted. They could actually produce more, but they don't have the employees to do so."
