Around 6 million migrants are expected to the UK population by the year 2036, according to official estimation. This adds pressure on British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on a sensitive issue in the countdown to an election.
The UK's population is expected to increase from 67 million to 73.7 million by 2036, operated almost completely by migration, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) estimated on Tuesday.

Firm Approach to Migration
Last month stricter visa measures were announced by Sunak's government, including salary thresholds and constraints on reducing the number of family members in the UK.
This step of Rishi Sunak was criticised by businesses and trade unions which said it would be ineffective for the private sector and the state-run health service, both focused on labour shortages.

The Home Office set out a timetable to apply the restrictions on Tuesday, aimed at reducing the number of migrants by 300,000 compared to last year. It also said it would put new rules on Feb. 19 to remove the right for care workers to bring family members, with fulfilment from March 11.
Rules to increase the minimum income threshold for those coming as skilled workers by 48% to 38,700 pounds are expected to be set on March 14, with fulfilment from April 4.
