Ottawa’s Immigration Levels Plan for 2023 – 2025 was to invite 565,000 new permanent residents to Canada between 2023 and 2025. However, per the latest data, the total number of immigrants invited to Canada in 2023 was 1.4% higher than the Immigration target. The latest Immigration Levels plan for 2024-2026 has set a target of welcoming 5 Million immigrants by 2026. The IRCC will also prioritize more economic and family reunification admissions in the coming years.
