3, 350 candidates were invited to apply for Canada PR in the new Express Entry draw held on 29th May. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score for the draw was 470.

The latest draw
was the first all-programs invitation
round in Express Entry after 1 May
. It also marked the return of the larger
number of ITAs. The previous draw conducted on 15th May was limited to FSTC candidates only (Federal Skilled
Trades Class). In this draw, just 500 Invitations to Apply were offered, as
quoted by the CIC News.

All-programs
draws consist of candidates from the 3 economic immigration categories in the
Express Entry system:

•    CEC – Canadian Experience Class

•    FSTC – Federal Skilled Trades Class

•    FSWC - Federal Skilled Worker Class

There was a gap
of 1 month between the last 2 all-programs draws and this is the reason for the
high-cut-off CRS score in the latest draw. The norm in Express Entry is to
conduct all-program draws once in every 2 weeks. When this period between 2 draws is extended, the pool in Express Entry
has more time to expand with higher scoring candidates
. This may have the impact of the cut-off scores
getting increased.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada opted for the tie-breaker rule even in this draw. The time and date
were 10:18:56 UTC on 23rd May 2019. This implies that all the applicants with
CRS score higher than 470 obtained the invitation in this draw. Along with
them, those who registered their profiles prior to this time and date and with
score 470 got the ITAs.

With the latest draw, the total ITAs offered in 2019
have reached 35,100.

Canada has
increased its target for admissions of
new immigrants
in 2019 through the 3 economic immigration programs in
Express Entry. These are also projected to increase further in 20210 and 2021.

For 2019, the
admission target is 81, 400 new Canada PR Visa holders. This is an increase of
6,500 over the target of 74, 900 in 2017.

Candidates in
Express Entry have diverse options for enhancing their scores in CRS. The most
valuable in terms of points is the nomination from a province in Canada through
the Provincial Nominee Program.

Candidates in
Express Entry who receive a nomination from a province for Canada PR get extra
600 points added to their score In CRS. This, in turn, ensures the ITA for Permanent Residence in Canada.
