Italy work permits available for foreign nationals starting from March 18, 2024
Italy has postponed the deadlines for applying for work permits. Foreign nationals can apply and submit applications for 151,000 work permits available this year starting from March 18, 2024.
Fragomen highlights that foreign workers are granted work permits on a first-come, first-serve basis. This implies that candidates who apply first can secure the permit provided they meet all the requirements.

Foreign nationals seeking work permits can apply in three separate categories. The first applications can be submitted beginning on March 18, and the last ones from March 25.

Italy work permit quota spots for non-seasonal and seasonal workers
The two non-seasonal foreign worker groups are assigned different deadlines for submitting work permit applications. A total of 89,050 slots are reserved for non-seasonal workers.
Furthermore, 61,250 quotas are allotted for non-seasonal workers, and an extra 700 quotas are reserved for self-employed foreign workers.

Italian employers made a maximum number of requests on the “click day” for foreign workers in the tourism, agriculture, and hotel industries, exceeding 82,550 requests. Furthermore, Italy currently needs highly skilled workers in the most in-demand professions, such as doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists.
