11 northern and rural communities have now been chosen to participate in the new Northern and Rural Immigration Pilot in Canada. They can now invite immigrants to settle as PR Visa holders.

The rate of birth in Canada is declining while the
population is also aging.
As a result, the
workforce in rural Canada is witnessing a crucial decline in the availability
of workers.

The new
Immigration Pilot will assist in attracting the workers required to propel the
growth of the economy. They will also assist in supporting mid-level
occupations in the communities, as quoted by the CIC News.

The communities in northern and rural Canada
that are participating in the Immigration Pilot will have the right to use wide
supports. This is for testing this latest model that is driven by community
assisting in filing labour gaps. The communities that are chosen for the pilot
are:

•    (BC) Vernon

•    (ON)
Sudbury

•     (ON)
Thunder Bay

•    (ON)
Timmins

•    (MB)
Brandon

•     (MB)
Coulee Plum-Rhineland-Altona-Gretna

•     (SK) Moose
Jaw

•    (AB)
Claresholm

•    (ON) North
Bay

•    (BC) West
Kootenay

•    (ON) Sault
Ste. Marie

The communities
that have been selected for participation in the Immigration Pilot are a
representative model of Canadian regions.
This is to help in outlining the design for the rest of Canada.

Canada is as
well collaborating with the regions for addressing the exclusive immigration
requirement in Northern Canada. This is to complement the new Northern and
Rural Immigration Pilot in Canada. It is committed to attracting the best
global talents for filling skill shortages. This is also for the growth of local economies in
countryside areas that will help all residents in Canada.

The Canadian
Government will work throughout the summer with the chosen communities. This is
to position then for identifying
immigrants for PR Visa
as quick as fall 2019. The communities will be
liable for recruiting candidates and endorsing them for Canada PR Visa.

New immigrants
are likely to begin to enter Canada through the latest Immigration Pilot by
2020.

Communities
collaborated with organizations for local development for submitting
applications. This showed the manner in which they fulfilled the criteria for
eligibility by 11 March 2019.

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot was started
in 2017 with the same objectives for promoting the growth of rural areas in
Canada. This was under the Atlantic Growth Strategy.

More than 4
million Canadians are employed by rural communities. They also account for
nearly 30% of the GDP of Canada.
