The popularity
of the Schengen Visas is for the fact that

quotes statistics from the Schengen Visa Info website. It elaborates that 1 million plus applications were filed in
India in 2018 for the Short-stay Visa for the Schengen Zone. It implies an increase of 17% over the
preceding year. It also reveals that the numbers for Schengen Visas have
increased almost twice after 2014.
The Quartz India
report also indicates that the majority of the Indian applicants for the
Schengen Visas were from New Delhi. The
New Delhi Swiss Consulate received 161, 403 Visa applications and tops the
list as the busiest Consulate in India for Schengen Visa. It is followed by the Consulate of France in Mumbai and New
Delhi. These jointly received more
than 140,000 applications.
