Foreign nationals who wish to apply for a Youth Mobility Scheme visa must have a minimum bank balance of £2,530 to live and work in the country. An applicant must have had the funds available for at least 28 days in a row, which must be within 31 days of applying for the visa.
Young foreign nationals can apply for this visa via the Young Professional Ballot, which is free of cost. In addition to the minimum sufficient funds, the applicant must have the processing fee and immigration health surcharge fee for the Youth Mobility Scheme visa. The UK government has allotted 3,000 places under the Youth Mobility Scheme visa for Indians in 2024.
The Youth Mobility visa allows young nationals aged between 18-30 years to live and work in the country for 2 years. It allows foreign nationals to gain work experience that will help them apply for other UK work visas.
*Note: The Young Professional Ballot opens two times a year: February and July.
