How much does the Australia Transit Visa cost?

The Australian Transit Visa (Subclass 771) can be obtained for free, as there is no application fee. Indian citizens must apply for an Australian Transit Visa to transit through Australia to their destination country. You can stay at the airport for a maximum of 72 hours while waiting for your next connecting flight. However, you cannot leave the Airport Transit Zone on a Subclass 771 visa. The visa does not allow multiple entries and is valid for 72 hours.

To apply for an Australia Transit Visa, you must meet the following requirements:
 

• Have a connecting flight from an Australian airport
• Have confirmed tickets for the connecting flight
• The layover at the Australian airport is less than 72 hours
• Are medically it for travel and transit
• Planning to stay at the airport transit zone while waiting for the next flight
• Have a valid and original passport
• Have no intention to stay beyond the maximum duration allowed on the visa
• Have a valid visa for the destination country
• Have sufficient funds along with proof to sustain your stay at the airport
