Rise in employment in Canada in December 2024
According to the latest StatCan reports, employment in Canada was up by 91,000, recording an increment rate of 0.2%. The current employment rate in Canada is 60.8%, as of December 2024 reports.
Canada reported a decline of 0.1% in unemployment, bringing down the current unemployment rate to 6.7%. The year 2024 ended with 413,000 more people working in the country as compared to the figures reported at the beginning of the year.

Canadian employment rises across industries and the core-aged population
StatCan reports revealed an increase in employment of 30,000 workers among core aged men. Employment among core aged women increased by 21,000 in Canada, as of December 2024.
