Employment surges in Canada
According to recent StatCan reports, yearly employment rose by 303,000, marking a 1.5% increase in October 2024. Employment increased by 15,000 in October after an increase of 47,000 in September 2024.
The employment rate for private sector in Canada rose by 0.7% with 99,000 new employees in August and September. Around 4.2% of people were employed in business, building, and other support services in Canada.

Employment rates across Canada
As of October 2024, the youth employment rate, including people aged 15-24, rose by 1.2%. The employment rate among male youth rose by 1.8%.
The highest employment rates have been recorded in business, building, and other services, reporting a 4.2% hike in October 2024. The yearly employment rate in waste management and administrative services rose by 4.8%.
