The following is the procedure to apply for an Australian tourist visa:
Step 1: Make an ImmiAccount
After checking your eligibility criteria, you must create an ImmiAccount online. ImmiAccount is the official online portal of the Australian Department of Home Affairs. You have to fill in all the personal details and confirm the account through email.
Step 2: Choose the type of subclass
After creating an account in ImmiAccount, you have to log in and select the type of subclass visa you want to apply.
Step 3: Completely fill out the visa application form
After selecting the type of visa, you will be redirected to the online application form for the visa. You have to answer some basic questions there, like the span of your trip, your name and birth date, personal details, and the reason for your trip.
Step 4: Submit all the necessary documents
You have to submit all the necessary documents by attaching electronic copies, such as your travel itinerary, passport, evidence of having sufficient money, etc.
Step 5: Pay the visa fee
After submitting all the documents, pay the visa fee, which is AUD 145 for a standard single entry and AUD 365 to AUD 1,065 for multiple entries.
Step 6: Wait for the visa to get approval
The Australian tourist visa is usually processed in 2 to 4 weeks. The authorities will update you about the outcome of the visa application.
Step 7: Travel to Australia upon approval
